40,000 vibrations per second enable higher precision microfabrication!
The ultrasonic spindle adopts a shrink-fit chuck for tool fixation, unlike conventional types, and transmits designed vibrations to the tool tip. The outer diameter of the spindle is very compact, at one-third that of conventional types, making it suitable for installation on various small machines. The spindle can achieve rotational speeds more than twice that of conventional types. It suppresses tool deflection, which is a problem during turning operations (such as cutting and grinding) when using small-diameter tools with a high aspect ratio. It is effective for fine, high-precision, and high-efficiency cutting and grinding of brittle materials like ceramics for semiconductor applications and hard materials for fine-shaped molds.
